A delicious, warming blend of Chai spices and cocoa seed peels, Yogi Tea Choco Chai has been a favorite for years. Cocoa mixed with sweet licorice, cinnamon, spicy ginger and cardamom makes for an almost heavenly brew. Relax, take a sip and inhale the wonderful aroma of chocolate. Enjoy it sweet and with a splash of milk or milk substitute. The subtle message of this infusion is: "Delicious indulgence".

Ingredients

  • Cocoa Barks: The cocoa tree, native to the rainforests of Latin America, is best known for its beans - the raw material for chocolate. Cocoa bean husks are just as sweet and smooth tasting, but contain far fewer calories.
  • Cinnamon: Cinnamon was once one of the most expensive spices in the world and is believed to have been used as early as 3000 BC in China as a spice. Cinnamon is obtained from the bark of the South Asian cinnamon tree and is characterized by a sweet and aromatic flavor and contains valuable essential oils.
  • Cardamom: Cardamom has been the most prized spice in Asia and Arab countries for thousands of years. Its subtle sweet yet pungent aroma makes cardamom indispensable in a multitude of dishes from curries to spicy Christmas cookies.
  • Ginger: Whether used in Christmas cookies, curries or as a lemonade, bulbous ginger is one of the best known aromatic plants in the world. Ginger is one of the world's best-known herbs. Ginger has been cultivated for thousands of years in tropical conditions in East Asia, and its fruity, pungent, aromatic and spicy flavors are found in many YOGI TEA® varieties.
  • Roasted Chicory: The blue-flowered roadside chicory is also known as "ugly" because of its stunted appearance. The flowers of this plant native to Europe, Northwest Africa and Western Asia, belonging to the Asteraceae family, are only open from dawn to noon. Its root is characterized by a spicy, pungent taste and gives mixed herbal infusions a coffee-like note - without caffeine.
  • Cloves: Cloves are the flower buds of the clove tree. In our latitudes, they are mainly known as a spice to decorate salty and sweet dishes. From the clove tree which belongs to the Myrtaceae family, their aroma is aromatic and intense for which one paid its weight in gold in ancient China and Egypt.
  • Black pepper: Also known as the "king of spices", black pepper is today, in addition to salt, the main condiment in the world. Originating from the Malabar coast of India, its intensely aromatic taste varies from slightly spicy to hot.

Preparation

Add 2 spoons (~ 3g) to 1 liter of boiling water and let simmer 10 to 15 minutes. Strain. Add hot milk and sweeten to your liking.
