The price of a coffee machine with payment module

The monthly rental price of a coffee machine where coffee is not free depends on several factors:

1. Lease term

For example, a 60-month lease will cost less over the long term than a 24-month lease, thanks to our sliding scale of charges.

2. Type of housing chosen

The payment option you choose will influence the monthly rental amount. Here are a few examples:

  • A coin-operated machine starts at €9.90 per month;
  • A coin-operated machine starts at €22.90 per month;
  • A contactless card reader starts at €19.90 per month.

3. Payment service provider’s fixed and variable costs
Depending on the service provider and electronic module you choose(Nayax, Mei Pay, Luxeo, …), you may be required to pay a fixed processing or maintenance fee, as well as a commission on each payment received.

4. Machine model
The price of your coin-operated machine will vary according to the model chosen, its capacity, its range, whether it has an additional ground coffee trap, whether it offers a milk-based beverage or concentrates on espressos, etc.

The choice to set your own flexible, customizable prices

A happy hour for discounted coffee? The first free decaffeinated beverage? The 10th espresso is free ? The choice is yours!

Numerous configurations are possible for each product or device. For example:

  • Offer a happy hour or days at a reduced price
  • Offer a fixed number of cups per day, with or without accumulation
  • Keep hot drinks free for employees and charge visitors or customers, and vice versa.

Professional multi-drink machines

Most pay-as-you-go coffee machines are multi-drink bean-to-cup machines.

With these machines, you can offer a wide range of hot beverages, from beans to ground coffee:

  • Black coffee (ristretto, espresso, lungo, americano, …)
  • Decaffeinated coffee
  • Coffee with milk (cappuccino, latte macchiato, etc.)
  • Hot chocolate
  • Gourmet beverages (hazelnut cappuccino)
  • Soup

Enough to delight all your staff, employees, visitors and/or customers who like a change from the iconic espresso, thanks to an all-in-one machine. The wide range of Jura machines will enable you to find the right machine for your needs.

Why we don't recommend pay-as-you-go coffee in the workplace

Many of our customers have coffee machines with coin-operated machines and charge their staff for coffee.

That said, as an experienced professional coffee service provider, we advise our corporate customers to avoid coin-operated machines and make coffee free rather than charge for it.

Here are the main reasons:

  • Paid-for coffee = higher quality expectations on the part of the consumer = more complaints to deal with;
  • If you opt for a coin-operated machine with cash, cash management in the company is often a real headache;
  • If you opt for payment by credit card, the cost of the service fees for such a system is sometimes more expensive than what the coffee brings in (and you have to look after the maintenance of the box in addition to that of the coffee dispenser);
  • Employees perceive their employer much better when coffee is offered, especially in France where it is “common” to pay for coffee;
  • Payment modules are complex electronic systems that are not easy for an office manager to manage. This (very) often leads to frustration, calls to technical support, machine breakdowns and so on.

You may be wondering

What's the difference with a vending machine?

A distinction must be made between coffee machines dispensing hot beverages and multi-drink vending machines, even though both can meet the same need to offer pay-per-use coffee in a professional environment. Let's see what sets them apart!

Dimensions

A stand-mounted dispenser is much bulkier than a grain dispenser, which is installed on a table rather than in a corridor or break room.

Payment modules

The coffee machines in our range are available as stand-alone units, and can be fitted with the payment module of your choice. It's an option. In contrast, a company distributor has an irremovable housing, integrated into its structure.

Quality and freedom

Most vending machines use soluble coffee, not good coffee beans. On the other hand, it offers less flexibility, as you can't fill, clean or handle it yourself: the service provider who supplies it has to intervene.
