Our story
Let's go back in time!
2015: a concept born out of frustration

It’s 2015, and Vincenzo realizes it‘s impossible to buy quality fair trade coffee without going to a specialist store, which is often too far away.
After a few months’ work, Javry.com is officially launched: it offers a coffee subscription service that enables anyone to receive a different exceptional coffee in their mailbox every month.
2016: more and more subscribers

Success came quickly. Within a few months, Javry had several hundred new subscribers, who received their monthly dose of caffeinated bliss. It was at this point that Maxence joined the team and became managing director of the company.
But it’s not just private customers who are interested: several companies are expressing an interest in durabke coffee in the office…
2017: an offer for professionals

Following growing demand from the business world, Maxence began developing a coffee machine rental service to serve offices, bars and restaurants alike.
It was also at this point that Pierre-Yves joined the team to help Maxence with this new development.
2018: a difficult choice

The corporate service is growing fast. We didn’t expect Belgian companies to be so enthusiastic!
A difficult choice is made: the subscription service for private customers is put on hold in order to concentrate on the professional segment.
And it’s a winning bet: thanks to strong growth and fund-raising, we triple the size of the team that year!
2019: improving everywhere

With a quality team and a service that makes sense, 2019 is shining: we’re continuing to supply Belgian companies with coffee that respects our values, while opening up to neighboring countries (France and Luxembourg).
Internally, we’re continuing toimprove our service to make it more eco-responsible: we’ve started delivering coffee in bulk and using bio-sourced packets to package our coffees.
2020: back to private customers

In March 2020, the health crisis and confinement hit. Telecommuting and the closure of cafés have a direct impact on Javry.
To compensate for the drop in revenue from our professional customers, we decided toopen the doors of our eshop to private customers.
It’s also an opportunity to revamp the website, whose new version will see the light of day in November 2020.
2022: strength in numbers

A giant step forward in our destiny: we join the Fountain Group. A superb opportunity to deploy Javry on a larger scale, while retaining the important values that we hold dear and that are our strength.
Thanks to the Fountain Group’s operational excellence, we will be able to better serve our existing customers and open up new geographical areas.
2024: accelerating sea transport

After the beginnings of our schooner project in 2022, we’re now giving concrete expression to our determination to bring freight transport under sail.
Three of our coffees in the 2024/2025 range will now be transported by TOWT’s cargo sailboats, reducing the carbon emissions linked to their transport by 90%. And that’s just for starters! Eventually, we want at least 50% of our coffees to follow this model.
2025: passing the torch

On January 1, 2025, Maxence leaves his CEO role for new horizons (and a well-deserved sabbatical) and Pyo joins Fountain to instill Javry’s IT best practices.
It was Sébastien who took over as head of Javry, determined to carry Javry’s commitment to an ever more responsible and accessible coffee even higher.
