2015

A concept born out of frustration

Vincenzo realises that it is impossible to buy high-quality fair-trade coffee without having to visit a specialist shop, which is often too far away.
After a few months’ work, Javry is launched: a coffee subscription service that allows anyone to receive a different, exceptional coffee in their letterbox every month.

2016

Gaining clients

Success soon followed . Within a few months, Javry had gained several hundred new subscribers. It was at this point that Maxence joined the team and became the company’s managing director.
But it wasn’t just private individuals who were keen: several companies expressed an interest in sustainable coffee for the office…

2017

B2B offer is here

In response to growing demand from the business sector, Maxence began developing a coffee machine hire service to cater for offices as well as bars and restaurants.
It was also at this time that Pierre-Yves joined the team to assist Maxence with this new venture.

2018

Tough choice

The business offering is growing rapidly. We hadn’t expected such an enthusiastic response from Belgian SMEs! The subscription service for private individuals has been put on hold so that we can focus on the business segment. It’s paid off: thanks to excellent growth and a successful fundraising round, we tripled the size of the team that year!

2019

Across the borders

2019 is a brilliant year: we continue to supply Belgian businesses with coffee that reflects our values, whilst expanding into neighbouring countries (France and Luxembourg).
Internally, our commitment to environmental responsibility is growing: we’ve started delivering coffee in bulk and using bio-based packaging.

2020

Covid and refocusing

The health crisis and lockdown have taken their toll: working from home and furlough have had a direct impact on Javry. To offset this drop in revenue, we decided to reopen our online shop to private customers.
This was also an opportunity to carry out a website redesign, with the new version launching in November 2020.

2022

Strength in unity

A giant step forward for us: we are joining the Fountain Group. This is a superb opportunity to roll out Javry on a larger scale whilst retaining the core values that are so important to us and which are the source of our strength. Fountain’s operational excellence and reach will, amongst other things, enable us to expand into new geographical areas.

2024

Heading for the ocean

Following an initial trial on a schooner in 2022, we are now putting our commitment to developing sail-powered freight transport into practice.
Three of our coffee products will now be transported by TOWT’s sailing cargo ships, reducing carbon emissions associated with their transport by 90 per cent. Ultimately, we aim for at least 50 per cent of our coffee products to be transported using this model.

2022

Passing the torch

Maxence is stepping down as CEO to pursue new horizons (and a well-deserved sabbatical), whilst Pyo is joining Fountain to bring Javry’s IT best practices on board.
It is Sébastien who is now taking the helm at Javry, determined to raise our commitments to ever more responsible and accessible coffee to new heights.

2026

Time for a rebranding

Perhaps one of the most significant milestones in Javry’s history: we are completely revamping our visual identity. A process that has taken over a year and has enabled us to realign our logo with our vision, mission and values. Our new emblem is the coffee cherry – the very source of it all!
